markdown
What is Markdown?
A simple, easy to learn text based system that can easily be converted to HTML, Rich Text, and other computer friendly format options.
I use it daily in Obsidian, Bear.app, and with with AI.
Why Learn Markdown?
- Simplicity: Uses simple punctuation characters to format text. For example ** bold ** becomes bold.
- Readability: Remains readable even in its raw form, so it's not too distracting to read. Many apps hide it well, too.
- Convertibility: Can be easily converted to HTML and other formats like RTF, which word processors love.
- Platform-independent: Works across different operating systems and applications
- AI uses it natively so if you write in Markdown, you don't have to convert you notes. Your notes can go straight in to AI queries, as is.
