I'm so Sad Evernote Got so Bad

Evernote was my first serious note taking app that i started using in 2008, when it first came out.

I really loved it and poured lots of hours into using it, amassing over 15k notes.

Sadly, it got too complex and suffered from feature bloat. Then, it did not fully support markdown, which became my favorite way to write.

I had to bail.

The cause of my love for marked down, I started using Bear.app first, and then I moved to Obsidian. It became my true PKM knowledge base,

Obsidian is full featured to begin with, but plug-ins really help the powers grow. For example, a publishing tool called the Digital Garden became my quick-publishing-with-easy-links platform I started in 2025.

Too bad, Evernote. It was nice to know you.
