Digital Garden

My real garden where I get inspired daily.

In early Spring, 2025, while researching how to publish Obsidian notes to the web, I came across a video about Digital Gardens, a metaphor for sharing your creations early in the creation process.

I immediately set one up. You can no see it at https://DavidBourne.net/

My Digital Garden is a core part of my GoMicro publishing project that helps me share more by publishing small things often.

This Practice In Public concept made a ton of sense to me. I have thousands of notes because I write every day and collect lots of ideas. But I share very little of that.

The "roots" of this garden is my Obsidian based PKM, a knowledge base for ideas to connect and grow.

With a Digital Garden You Plant...

I love metaphors, especially ones using the natural world, so the Digital Garden was perfect.

Does a Digital Garden "Work"?

Yes! I'm amazed at how well it's working.

My intention was to start sharing in ways I had not done before: more loosely, freely, quickly, with less listening to my inner critic.

By day 2 of the project, I posted 15 notes, which is more than I usually post to my website in a year! By day 4, I'm up to 23!
